My source of strength, my source of hope is Christ alone

Having slept from 10+ to 12+ after a visit to the doc is making me a lil too awake at this timing. 

Down with fever for the third day and had a shock when my mum made me take my temp last night - 38.9degrees. That was when I wasn't feeling that cold; guess it was 39+ when I was literally shivering then.

Doc told me to look out for symptoms like rashes, diarrhea and vomitting. Had the first episode of diarrhea just now; sincerely hope it isn't dengue cause I've alr had it once when I was a kid.. Prayers are much appreciated! 

Received one of the worst news this week and it's just heartbreaking when one doesn't honour his/her word. Was asked a few times if I would stick to my prior decision and well, my answer's a resounding yes. 

And I couldn't help but feel so loved and assured by our Father when I saw these the very next day within the short time I was scrolling the news feed.

The Way Out Is Up

Psalm 50:14–15
Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me. NIV

There’s the divine way out of trouble. You’re in the midst of trouble, pressures are against you, and you don’t see any way out. But there is a way up, a way to God: “Sacrifice thank offerings.” That sounds senseless, doesn’t it?

In the midst of all the pressures and the trouble, stop worrying and start thanking God. Lift your voice in thanksgiving to God. Offer Him an offering of thanksgiving. Something that costs you something, something that goes against the grain, but it’s a sacrifice acceptable to God. And God says, “When you offer Me that sacrifice of your thankfulness in the midst of all the trouble, then I’ll intervene on your behalf. I will deliver you and you will honor Me.” God is waiting to deliver, but the way that He wants us to prepare for His deliverance is to offer Him thank offerings right in the midst of the trouble.

In the last verse of the same psalm He says this, “He who sacrifices thank offerings honors Me and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.” You see, when you offer God thanksgiving in the midst of trouble, that’s the purest expression of faith that you can make. And when you offer Him that thanksgiving you prepare the way in your life, in your heart, that God may show you His salvation, that God may come to your rescue.

James 1:2–4:

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations; ...

Or trials. Do you do that? Well, you need to. I need to. I need to praise God that He counts me worthy of the trial. That He trusts me enough to let me be tried. And let me bear in mind always that the trial is for my good. And James explains how it’s going to do you and me good.

. . . knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience [endurance] have her perfect work [don’t give up too quickly], that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

What James is saying is: If you hold out, if you’ll go through the test, it will surely shape every area of your character and personality. It’ll make you a complete, fully rounded Christian. There won’t be areas in your character that haven’t been dealt with.
