Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I have pressing matters to present to you.

The European Union invited Professor Thio Li Ann to speak on the role of the judiciary in protecting human rights around the world. Professor Thio is a foremost expert in constitutional law. She teaches at the NUS and has done a life-time of research in the area of human rights and the law.

 

In her capacity as an expert, the EU issued that invitation.

 

But the homosexual lobby in Singapore is not happy with the invitation, even though it has nothing to do with them.

 

They made a big fuss by turning up at the conference this morning to hold up protest signs.

 

Professor Thio, being Professor Thio, is not cowed by such unreasonable behaviour. She continued with her presentation to the delegates at the conference.

 

There is a group of Christians and conservatives who have set up a petition to support Professor Thio.

 

We need to tell the world that Singapore is a conservative society defined by a cultural complex quite at odds with the values which the LGBT movement is espousing and imposing upon the rest of the world. We uphold our family values and we will speak up for it in order to preserve it.

 

In a sense, I am glad that this involves the EU because, more than most other bodies, the EU needs to know where we stand on this and on many other social policy and ethical issues of our time. The western parts of the EU consist of very liberal nations; if they sense that Singapore is a walkover, more of such shenanigans will come our way.

 

So, this is the time when we all need to stand up and be counted for what we said we all believe in. We believe in a good and healthy and mainstream family values for Singapore.

 

As Christians, we also need to stand up for freedom of speech. Just because the LGBT people disagree with Professor Thio’s speech does not give them the right to shut her up. This is an aggressive lgbt tactic. It has happened in America. We must not allow the activists to deploy the same tactics to Singapore. 

More and more people are signing by the minute. As of this writing, 663 people have signed their support of Professor Thio.

 

However, let’s also go beyond just signing our own petitions. Let’s also get like-minded friends to all stand up and speak forthrightly about where we all stand with respect to the LGBT agenda and their attempts at muzzling Professor Thio.

This is where the body of Christ really needs to stand together and be the voice of God to the world.
