I remembered him as an articulate speaker who had well researched materials and whose arguments were strong and cogent.
The second time I saw him was at TF. He presented a repackaged version of his case to better equip the audience in helping believers who struggle with same-sex attraction. After the session, Michelle (thank God for you!) offered to drive us to the nearest train station and on our way out, Leo was very intentional in knowing my friend and me better. This was what I shared with my sheep on 30 October 2015:
"The speaker at Tanglin Fellowship today was Leo. He's been a counselor for more than 10 years and has spoken at our church before. In his ministry, he works with a lot of LGBT youths and his topic today was on homosexuality. I was very encouraged by his sharing cause he showed that it is possible to have a discourse in love, esp when it's such a sensitive topic. His framework was one that is out of love too, and he presented many facts and insights of why homosexuality is bad for you and me individually. He mentioned that if you really care for a person, you'll care for his or her physical health, psychological health, the individual's quality of life, and the societal implications his / her actions will bring (for eg. you don't just want your child to be self centred but someone constructive who can contribute to society). On top of that, I had the privilege of taking the same car out with him and after speaking to him, I found his message even more convincing cause his gentleness as a Christ follower was very evident; the love he has for the people could easily be heard in his speech too. Hope to learn even more from him in future!"
Last month, I saw Leo at TF again and that night, he talked about some crucial conversations God has led him to have with the church. During the sharing, he mentioned about the struggles he had when God prompted him to sell his flat (esp when his daughter was so young) and even after he had obeyed. Of course, our God is faithful and provided for Leo and his family subsequently.
I approached him after the session with some questions in mind and to my surprise, he actually remembered my name and occupation. He was very kind to answer my questions and listen to my friends' sharing too.
A week later, he texted me saying that SBC was offering free lectures for a week and that the first session would be good. And once again, he was as nice as Leo in sharing with me what he does etc.

Only signed up for the sexuality series due to some reasons then but it's really heartwarming to see how intentional Leo is in investing in the next generation and as a blessed recipient, I just wanna say I'm extremely thankful. If you're keen to attend the workshops, see you there :)

The Sexuality Series arises from Leo’s wealth of experience in conducting sexuality talks and ministering to the sexually broken. It is absolutely one most important subjects the church must deal with. The goal is to raise more teachers and ministers with resources to equip the church, love our neighbour and disciple the nation.

Do you feel something missing in your Christian life? Have you been told you are saved yet feel this spiritual blessing you had received is largely inapplicable to what you do while alive? Do you feel stagnant, mundane, irrelevant, meaningless and empty? What is the Kingdom of God? How will understanding His kingdom revitalize how we live our lives?

Love, Sex and Marriage (9-Apr)
What is love? Why is lifelong love elusive? How do we shortchange ourselves when we go against God’s idea of sex? Why is God’s idea of sex in the bible the best advice for us? How can we build a successful marriage?
Sexual Libertinism (23-Apr)
Does Christianity really have answers to our worst critics in a liberally permissive world?
Sexual Wholeness (7-May)
How can we help the sexually broken? Why is this one of the most important issues today? How should church respond?
